Made by the Bisaya and Kedayan tribe from the district of Beaufort and Menumbok, these basket has a narrow base which gradually widen at the mouth of the basket and materials involved are bamboo, rattan and selingkawang. A piece of rattan known as “simpai” supported the structure of the basket with its base joined and tied with selingkawang. It is commonly used to carry paddy and other farm produce. A large tekiding will require one week for completion.
